Fit Brownie Recipe and Of Course, More Fitspo!

“Fit Brownies”

About 30 Calories per piece, 5g Carbs, 1g Fat

Ingredients:
• 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
• 2/3 cup natural unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon potassium salt
• 1 cup stevia
• 2/3 cup sweet-potato puree
• 3 large egg whites
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8-inch square pan; set aside. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Remove pan from heat, and stir in cocoa. Let cool slightly.

In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and potassium salt.

Stir in sugar and sweet-potato puree, then egg whites. In a small bowl, stir together vanilla into the cocoa mixture.

Add flour mixture to cocoa mixture and stir until no traces of flour remain.

Spoon into prepared pan. Bake until surface of brownies looks barely dry and an inserted knife comes out with a few moist crumbs, about 20 minutes. Cool to room temperature.
Crumble the brownies with fork

Scoop 1 Tbsp sized balls and shape into footballs (or small squares/balls)

Decorate as desired!!

I Can Do This

Gotta keep my eyes on the prize and my “thoughts out of the gutter”, meaning I’m using a thought-stopping technique to shake away thoughts of cravings. Distraction is key until my will power gets strong and my good habits become just that: HABITS.

Changing My Tune

Half of the “diet” battle is your ability to recognize when a certain diet of lifestyle is NOT working for you, and change it. I’m constantly switching it up, because the things that worked for me in the past may not always work in the future. That being said, I have known for quite some time now that “diets” that are extreme or that restrict me severly NEVER WORK FOR ME. I end up feeling deprived, out of control and binge eating. That being said, I have unfortunately fallen into a pattern of restricting myself a little too much lately, so I am back to my mantra of “no food is off limits”. Portion control has always been my best friend, though. Here we go. Fresh start. Sky’s the limit.

 

The “200” Goal

I love mini-meals and eat frequently throughout the day. Since my daily caloric intake should be 1200 if I want to reach my weight loss goals, I’ve devised what I’m calling the “200” Goal. My day consists of 6 mini-meals of 200 calories each. This is perfect for curbing cravings and keeps me eating often and feeling satisfied. Breakfast-snack-Lunch-snack-Dinner-dessert. Voila! So far…it’s working!!!
